John G. Bates was formerly Senior Counsel of the partner ecosystem at DocuSign.  He was General Counsel and CISO for Clarity Insights (Accenture) in Chicago, IL.  He has led legal, risk, IT security, data governance, and compliance programs and has successfully completed HITRUST and ISO 27001 certification projects.

Mr. Bates has spoken at numerous events including ISC² Security Congress, Association of Corporate Counsel Annual Meeting, ACC Cybersecurity Summit, ACC Chicago Summit, ACC Philadelphia Summit, Chicago Bar Association, and local ACC chapters.

Mr. Bates received a BA in Philosophy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and JD from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Dr. Michael Chahino, CIO, Elgin Community College

 


Dr. Michael Chahino has served as the Chief Information Officer at Elgin Community College
(ECC) since May 2017. He is also an adjunct faculty member of ECC and taught in the areas of computer & information systems, economics, business, and management. Prior to working at ECC, Dr. Chahino worked in different capacities with DeVry University, the National University of Health Sciences, the Universal Technical Institute, and as a Research Economist at the Near East Bureau of the US State Department.

Dr. Chahino earned a bachelor degree and a master degree in international economics from Illinois State University and has a doctorate degree in educational technology from Northern Illinois University.

Keith Conlee, Chief Security Officer, IT, College of Dupage

 


Dr. Keith Conlee has over 30 years in the Information Technology field delivering innovative and effective solutions including working at the National Security Agency (NSA), Bell Laboratories/Lucent Technology, and is currently the Chief Security Officer for Information Technology at the College of DuPage. His duties are focused on building strong security governance, security policy/procedure and risk management programs including Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery. Keith is a Payment Card Industry Professional (PCIP)™, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®), a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA®), and a Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP). He is an active member in the ISC2, ISACA, PCI Security Standards Council, and the BRPA of Chicagoland. His undergraduate and graduate education is in Computer Science, and with an added Law Degree gives Keith the unique ability to interpret and align technical legal regulatory compliance and business

objectives.

Dr. Fred Kwong has been a Security and Technology leader with 20 year’s experience working in education, financial, and telecommunication sectors. He has a proven track record of building security programs through risk-based methodologies and his work includes the creation of security and privacy policies, standards, and procedures. His broad range of IT skills has allowed him to view IT from many different paradigms and present them to the business partners in an easy to understand language. Fred servers as an adjunct professor at Benedictine and Roosevelt University teaching courses in international business, organization behavior, project management, and information systems. He holds a Ph.D. from Benedictine University and earned his master’s degree in business administration from Roosevelt University. Fred is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM), and a PCI Professional (PCIP).
