Mary Stevens

Mary is a Technology Architect working for Technology Services at the University of Illinois in Urbana Illinois.  She has a B.S in Physics and MBA from UIUC.  She has worked for the last 24 years at the university and has held a variety of positions there during that time from managing UNIX servers to deploying and managing the first firewalls at the university to being the director of infrastructure.  In her current position, she is responsible for establishing an architecture capability within the organization and is helping to lead several efforts including how the organization utilizes the cloud.  Mary is passionate about leveraging her education and experience to benefit the university.

 

Brian Sherman

With 30+ years in IT, Brian is a member of the Application Engineering team in Zurich’s Global IT Services organization.

 

After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University, Brian spent many years with the Donnelley yellow pages companies of the Dun and Bradstreet corporation (DnB), ultimately moving to Chicago to build and manage an IT team for DonTech, a publishing partnership between Ameritech and DnB. Brian came to Zurich Insurance Group in time to help roll their first Windows NT Client/Server application into production. Over 20+ years at Zurich, Brian has held several management and technical roles, including serving as a lead Windows Server engineer through significant growth and consolidation / optimization periods for distributed servers, the development and maturation of Zurich’s disaster recovery preparedness in North America, datacenter relocations and consolidations, and the outsourcing of Zurich’s IT infrastructure. A global resource since the start of the infrastructure outsource program, Brian’s current team is focused on easing the path to public cloud for applications through a best practice-based application migration framework.

 

Martez Reed

Martez is the Director of Technical Marketing for Morpheus Data. He has spent the last 7+ years working with enterprise customers to develop automation solutions to accelerate their businesses. His background is in system administration and has fully embraced DevOps methodology as well as the toolchain associated with the practice.
