Over the past 6 months, companies have been forced to rapidly scale their remote working strategies. Many have realized that their existing systems weren’t designed for the quickly changing, increasingly mobile, modern workplace. DirectAccess, on top of having a number of frustrating downsides, is approaching the end of its useful lifetime. Microsoft is positioning Windows 10 Always On VPN as the replacement for DirectAccess. While it provides many new features that were missing from DirectAccess, it has its own unique limitations and shortcomings.
